You Really Do Learn Something Every Day

Maybe everyone already knew this, but today I just discovered that linseed oil is actually flaxseed oil. I recall in art class in high school, we used linseed oil as a carrier oil for oil-based paint. I just always assumed this was some specialty thing only used by artists.
Today I noticed the French translation for 'flax' on the bag of bread I have in my pantry - 'lin' . Somehow I managed to keep this in my curious (little) mind until I had time to look it up later, & sure enough, linseed oil is just plain old flaxseed oil :) Something we grow right here in Saskatchewan, no less!
